Gladstones LBC 2022

Hi all, I have recently been following this forum and all advice given and would like some advice about and old LBA I received in 2022 at an old address. The reason for writing now is I recently received 3 new PCNs from the same place this year, which i'm currently dealing with, and will start a new thread when required) and it jogged my memory from previous claims and worried me about a potential court claim/ ccj being issued i wouldn't be aware of.

I had two Letter before actions for two different pcns sent through from gladstones in 2022 which at the time i ignored. This was shortly followed by a claim form from the court which made me panic at the time and i paid. So one was paid and dealt with which with hindsight i should have fought.

The second LBA letter i responded to on the gladstones portal after the first one resulted in a claim along the lines of ' this is a sham i will defend this in court' but cant remember. My concern now is and having read the forum at some point will a claim be sent to my old address? (which i moved out Autumn 2022).I had royal mail redirect for 6 months after moving and no new documents came through.
I recently logged onto the gladstones portal out of curiosity (last time was almost 3 years ago) when i remembered and it stills says 'pre action'. The problem is i also have no idea who the parking operator is or where the alleged contravention happened although i have a good idea. The vehicle in question was also sold towards the end of 2020 so the alleged contarvention must be 2019 -2020.

Should i contact gladstones and enquire or use their online system to ask current status or give them an updated address?. As said my main concern is at some point before the 6 years is up they will make a claim I am unaware of. Will logging on to their system notify or reactivate?

    Thanks for your reply @Le_Kirk

The vehicle in question was sold to a dealer in December 2020 so has not been registered to me since.  However driving licence, electoral register all up to date.

My main concern here is i received the letter before action in 2022 and nothing since and its almost 3 years later so would you expect a claim to have happened already if there was going to be one?

Should I contact Gladstones to clarify and update address although as far as i'm aware the matter is closed as i did not hear back but as stated earlier still displayed as open and pre judgement on their portal.

    All advice greatly appreciated.

Always have to keep the PPC advised of any change of address via the DPO and require them to inform all and any of their agents and sub-contractors. Last thing you need is a claim form going to an address where you don't live anymore. That way lies a default CCJ.

    Ok thank you.

Only problem is i'm not sure who the PPC is as it has been soo long and stupidly ignored/threw away original paperwork. On the solicitors online system there is just a case number.  Maybe I will contact solicitor (gladstones) and ask for all details relating to that case number and go from there.

Send Gladstones a SAR for all data they hold about you and your old vehicle - only mention the old vehicle - and state it was sold in 2020 and your old address art the time was (OLD ADDRESS).

    Don't mention your current vehicle.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

How will they be able to write back if you don't provide your current "address for service"?

You want them to know so they have no excuse for "accidentally" filing a claim to the old address.

So I logged back onto the gladstones portal today. The case has gone from 'pre-action' which its been for a long time to 'post litigation' today which has happened in the last 4 days. Amount still the same and no claim number so does this mean they wont pursue?

Not sure if my logging on after all this time activated it.

I have emailed the enquiry email address asking about the change and giving my new address along with the DPO email asking for all old addresses and car reg to be deleted and removed from record. Also updated address on the portal.

I also saw my reply to the LBA so reminded me of which occasion it was and it really was a nonsense ticket that was issued i pulled over for about 20 seconds while waiting for a car to pull out. Still don't know who the PPC is but they should reply with this info. A grainy cctv camera on the side of the shop was used for the image.

Or does this mean the litigation period is over and a claim is imminent?
