Why is another firm paying into this one's savings account? Why not have the 2nd firm pay it into the 1sts normal business account and then transfer the money to savings?

Most business use the Deposit account offered by the bank where the current account is, or move their current account to a bank that offers a better savings rate if the business always expects to have large amounts of cash on deposit.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

If we are talking about hundreds of thousands of spare cash then some banks used to offer 'On Call' accounts to business accounts.
Don't know if they still exist.

I have no experience in this area and I don’t know if the following are the best.
Saffron Building Society have an instant access business savings account. At the time of writing the interest rate is 3.95%. I use them as a personal customer. The web interface is a bit clunky but perfectly usable.
There is Cumberland Building Society. Their instant access is 2.95%. But for personal accounts you can only apply if you live in the area. I don’t know their application rules for business accounts.
If either of these appeals you could contact them if they will meet your needs.
