In many cases these sites are hosted on the likes on Shopify. There is who is responsible to make sure that all the required info is shown.sheramber said:
Precisely. Stating companies should show this information , as Wooplokis does, is all very well but getting fly by night foreign companies to do so is another matter.
But many people don't seek out information before ordering i.e. do basic checks on the company they're giving their money to.
It seems that there are more and more threads like this popping up.
The internet is not the warm, fluffy and honest place that a lot of people think it is.Who is going to make them?
It is a case of buyer beware.
They even have templates for T/C, that in some cases still have <insert company name> that has not been edited.
Due Diligence is certainly required..
Just been arguing this with daughter who is looking for a bag. Found a site & asked my opinion. Said have you looked at T/C etc.. Nope. Go back & look. Clear as day not a UK co & not a single address of the retailer. She said they sell on Amazon, so got her to go on there & sure enough. Listed as a Chinese co..
So if you want one go via Amazon as they are supplied from Amazon.
So if the likes of Amazon can force addresses on retailer. Then any other hosting site can. Just they want the money & non of the risk/work to check.Life in the slow lane1 -
Exactly the point I made about the company in the original post:born_again said:

The 'About us' page seems to be flowery AI and gives no information on the company.
A lot of these problems could be avoided if people took a little more care.3 -
To round this thread off, I received a refund for these clothes in May 2025 from my credit card company.
Thank you for all your comments.

To help others, did your card provider process a chargeback or was it a s75 claim?

Sorry, I don't know the difference. I filed a complaint and sent them the email chain, photos of the garments, and screenshots from the site. I had already paid the charge, so it ended up being a positive balance on my credit card.
