Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting us off. The weather here today is supposed to be dry and sunny with light winds. It feels fairly mild and it's bright enough but, so far, the sun is hiding. Maybe it's having a lie-in.
DS and his good lady popped in yesterday with a card, flowers, chocolates and a bottle of my favourite tipple. We had a good natter during which she mentioned she wants to learn to knit so I gave her some needles and yarn from my stash to start her off. DS gave his verdict on the paint colours and plumped for the two that I also prefer. Just need to decide which one now! As expected, I didn't hear anything from DD. Hey ho, that's life.
I'm all ready for my SM delivery that's due soon, all P&C with no subs according to the e-receipt. In the meantime I'm busy watching some council workers who are stripping out a flat that's become vacant in the next block in readiness for the next tenants. I wonder who it will be?
Tea tonight is a salad, probably tuna or pilchards, and I need to make up some mixed veg pasta to go with it. Other kitchen jobs for today are to cook a small gammon joint and bake a loaf.
@AA - Enjoy your camper van trip.
@TA - It sounds as if you had a high old time at the caravan, a slothful day today sounds like a good idea.
@dp1 - Sorry to hear your knee is still giving you grief. Have you thought about using a knee brace during the day? Or maybe a topical gel?
Enjoy the sun if you have it (I hope it finds its way to you soon Gers) and have the best day you can. Hugs where needed, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -

Good afternoon
A lovely sunny spring day. I've been up and busy. Washing done and pegged out, usual vacuuming also done. How can a dog shed so much fur and not get bald patches?
I had a lovely phone call from DD yesterday. She said the granddaughters are beyond excited at coming to stay! No contact from the son as expected, but to be honest if he did I'd wonder 'how much'.
Something with salad tonight, probably cold meats.
Nothing else to report so have a good day all, hugs to all who need them. Take care.9 -
Hi all
A quick visit on here from work, seeing as I haven't managed to get a lunch time I thought I could nip on and see how everyone is!
I got text messages from my kids yesterday - they all stuck to no cards or gifts which was good. I think I always feel guilty as Mother's Day is just after my birthday and is an added expense. The flowers from my birthday are still going strong too!
Yesterday was spent mostly in the garden, all the back weeded, the pots de-weeded and everything had a feed of bone, fish & blood - very stinky but good for the plants. There seem to be a few gaps so will look for some new plants, my favourite plant nursery opens up next week which is very local so will spend a fortune have a good look.
Good to hear from you Nanny, don't be a stranger and you're not moaning at all - just letting us know what's happening in your life.
Hope your knee improves dp1.
Take care. XX8 -
So much for my plan to sit out in the sunshine after work...we've had no sun today!
Thanks for comments concerning my knee...I have a huge elastic bandage which stretches from my ankle to almost the top of my leg, the nurse at the hospital put it on and said to keep it on through the day and remove it to sleep x5
