I scored 4 in "Preparing food" and 4 "Engaging with other people face to face"

I'm so confused...

The change they want to bring in is for people to have to score at least 4 points in any daily living activity, as well as scoring 8 points as is the case now.

You scored 4 points on those two daily living activities, so you will be fine if/when they bring in the change.

Activities 1-9 that you've listed above are daily living activities.  (Number 11 is mobility.)

You've scored 4 for at least one of the daily living activities - actually two, in your case, Cooking, and Engaging with other people - so you meet the new/future rule already.

So there is no need for you to worry with the PIP scores you have  :)

The changes are not going to be in place for a long time.
So please stop worrying about the changes. You will get the PIP from this outcome.

What happens in the future, is yet to be fully decided.

The government plan to add the new 'you must get at least one 4 point or more scoring Daily Living descriptor to get a DL award' late in 2026. The change would only affect new claims and claim reviews after that. Your current award if replicated (i.e. you meet the new criteria as you currently would) at a future review would be unaffected by the new rule.

As noted above he changes haven't even been put into place and then there is a question of who and when.  Common sense says they will review it at your next review, but truthfully no one knows yet.  Id also add, Youve a 5 yr review, which indicates things are unlikely to change with your condition in the next few years.  However your claim is only as safe as the assessor, given youve gone through the tribunal, it doesnt mean the same wont happen in 2030.

Late 2026 & will only effect claims from then.. So your claim to 2030 you have 4/5 before anything will effect you 👍
