Domestic & General on new appliances

I have some white goods which are brand new and when registering their warranty, I'm being offered domestic and general as an extended warranty.

I'm confused as how does this differ from the first year warranty that comes with the appliance? Also confused as domestic and general say that callouts would be covered providing there's no other warranty for the appliance - which there would be as it's the first year!

Any ideas please? Thanks

Does your warranty cover call out charges?

You need to see what the warranty on the goods are and compare it to what D&G are offering... in a prior example a cooker came with 1 years labour, and 2 years parts warranty, D&G were offering a 3 year warranty that included accidental damage (AD) which naturally the original warranty didnt so effectively year 1 was AD only, year 2 was labour and AD and year 3 labour, parts and AD, after year 3 it became an annual rolling contract.

Also remember they will only be talking about warranty cover, you will also have statutory rights against the retailer potentially (again excluding AD)
