Hi and apologies if this is in the wrong forum.
My wife's tax caluclation letters are sent to some ltd company, we don't know why or how to stop it.  The text reads "We have also sent a copy of this calculation letter to PTS Stockport Ltd"

She used to be a member of a union back when she was in a different career; perhaps it could be related?  Either way, how can we stop this.  I don't really like the idea of some random company that we have no dealings with getting all her tax related information!

Thanks

when you say "tax calculation" letters - do you mean the ones issued by HMRC?

She maybe signed up to some vulture reclaim company on the advice of the union, they get kickbacks for sign ups.  Name them, someone may then be able to advise how to ditch them.

yes, they are tax refund vultures - get HRMC to update their records and remove them - quick phone call should do it.

Probably not, but if she is, then she could contact them and request that they delete all personal data they hold about her, exercising her rights under the data protection act.

My tax calcs are copied to an accountant I used to complete my Self Assessment TR a couple of times some twenty years ago.

The accountant is dead, the accountancy firm no longer exists and the building that housed his office was demolished over 10 years ago.

If there were some way to turn this CC off in my tax account I'd do so, is a phone call (or letter) the only way?

Although that link is a bit confusing and doesn't seem very helpful apart from suggesting writing / phoning.
