I bought a book on Amazon for £18.95. No problem, order details stated £18.95 as the total. All fine book delivered.
My big mistake was paying for it via Clearpay . They have charged me £21.82 and have set up payments accordingly. I have queried this with them but in spite of opening a dispute with Clearpay they are giving me the runaround.

I know it is a small amount, but I am determined not to let them get away with it.
Anyone else had a similar experience with them and what can I do to get my refund?
Thanks

I always use to think it was just me not used it in a long time but they always did it with mine so say an item was £25 It was either free postage or pick up at store they would charge me £28.75 yet when you go to click at the end always stated we only charge you what the cost is and don't add fees.
always done it for me never a lot and always a random amount extra

What about where there is no shipping costs and I'm collecting the item?
But I do think your right when I go back on and click have it posted the costs stay the same £34.45 shipping costs £4.95 item is £25 so that's still only £29.95 why another extra £4 or so and sorry OP not trying to hijack your post always wondered how they came to that price when it always states you only be charged for what you spend lol.£2820/£4000 0% 24 months pay £150 HSBC

Their customer support people posted this to my query -
Depending on the store you shop at, we might add a small buffer to allow for extra tax/shipping charges from the store, and to prevent order declines. For example, if your final checkout screen shows $100, but your actual order was for $90, we’ll wait until we have confirmation from the merchant of the final order total, and then will void out the $10 difference. You WILL NOT be charged for the difference; only for the actual final order total from the merchant.
Note: Amazon can take up to 4 days to adjust, other merchants will be within 24 hours.

Thats how they get us.
Just looked at a sofa costing £996.55 which is the sale price from £1,049
Clearpay's price is £1,147.03
Leaving a defecit of £150.48.
Bit too much for clearpay to be gobbling up. Fortnightly payments too. I rekon just adding £250 a fortnight to my amazon balance over the next 8 weeks is what I'm gona do. Really makes no sense giving up the extra money if not in an emergency.0
