Servicing a Worcester boiler

How close to the anniversary of purchasing a replacement boiler does the servicing have to be in order to maintain the 10 year warranty ?

We had a replacement boiler fitted last September and normally leave our service until November…

I think that's pushing it. But if you call up W-B, they might say it's ok.

But please don't assume...

Asked our boiler fitter this, he's also the authorised servicer/repairer for our boiler brand. He said 2 weeks wouldn't raise an eyebrow, a month would "probably" be OK, but to remember that the manufacturer also takes into account the anniversary date of the original installation - i.e if you're leaving it 13 months between each service, after a couple of years they'd say you'd not been meeting the annual servicing requirement.

We trust him, and oil boilers are too expensive to mess around with, so we've stuck to that.

Had my boiler installed 14th June 2023, and the first service done 28th June 2024. Next one, I'll try to get done a little earlier.

One advantage of having a service done in June (or September) is engineers are less likely to be rushing around fixing broken heating systems.
