Looking for inspiration

Hi All,

I'm looking for some inspiration for this room which is effectively a snug adjacent to the kitchen.

The room has currently been cleared with the exception of the corner unit which I am planning to keep for the TV. The sofas and table etc are gone. However, how can I upgrade the room?

My partner and I have been considering a stove where the old electric fire was or possibly a wall stove (potential stove attached in photo).

Thanks in advance.

"Upgrading" the room has no meaning, unless we know what you use it for, what you want to get out of it.  You can spend thousands on making it look pretty but it has to work for you.

The "stove" in the picture looks like a Bioethanol heater set into the wall; they are very popular as media units i.e. fitting a TV above them.  They do look nice, but be aware that the Bioethanol fuel is about £3.50-£4 a litre.  On one that size you'd probably be spending £2/hour to have it on.

It's hard to see the full shape of the room, but I don't think your idea would work unless you really just want a heater in the wall.  It would be better to have the heater under the TV, then get a bigger TV and mount that on the wall, and have your sofa aquare-on to it.  but your sofa is looking out the window at the moment

The room looks traditional and the fire looks modern, not sure they go together. But don't take any notice of me, I'm having a place renovated for me at the moment and I haven't a clue what I'm doing!

Looks lovely to me. Very Homes & Gardens.
Bang up to date the Modern Cottage look.

If you're gettting rid of it I'll have it :D

Don't like the fire picture. It's neither one thing or another.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

The fire isn't to my taste as well. The room before you cleared it looked fine to me. As above what do you intend to use it for. Do you need a fire given the large radiator and being open to the kitchen. Dining Room? Or possible an extension of the kitchen or utility room to clear some stuff from the kitchen.

The fire was more of a feature of the room. We had considered getting a multi fuel stove but I'm not sure how feasible that is.

We're planning to keep a table in the room for meals and some sofas for relaxing and watching TV etc.
