So, they may well argue that they did what they were legally required to do, even though you can counter that you needed to get back for work and that there was evidently an earlier flight available - the rules aren't really cut and dried in this area so you may succeed but will probably have to put up a fight, especially if the flight you took was significantly more expensive than Ryanair's.3 -

I think you should complain to the CAA. Firstly, they had no right to impose a deadline for accepting their offer of a refund. Secondly, it seems they misinformed you about your right to "care" and "rerouting".0
