House transfer- divorce

Options
Post of behalf of friend -  Nearly divorced and ex is buying property and I have agreed a settlement. Now nearly at the stage of transfer of funds.  I have asked for the funds to go to a third party but exe's Solicitor is saying they cant be sent to anyone expect me or my Solicitor.  Is this the case, I'm struggling to find any kind of law on this through a google search?  Any answers on specific question would be appreciated

Why would you chose "third party"? It really sounds dodgy to me, just send them to your solicitor and ask them to send to you and then you can do whatever you want.

It's a big amount, I wouldn't want to risk anyone else - third party - let's say friend, the moment it's transferred it's there's - they don't have to give it back to you, and if the divorce required payment to you - you never received anything, so you could sue..
