I emailed them this evening too*. It may take a few days to get an answer, but I've found they back date the switch.Feel free to skip my rant here...*As the link to switch a single fuel (if you ever come across it), seems to come up with this message (screenshot at the end), which I've also told them about again. Why give a link to switch online, but then don't let you switch?(^^ That's my only annoyance with the Octopods right now, so I'll be staying with them.)Anyway... glad other posters found the information for you about the rates, and that you're sorting your tariff switch out.1

It is a bit frustrating when things are not presented as clearly as we would expect or hope for.Generally I really am happy with Octopus and hope, very much, to stay with Octopus.I have said it a number of times, and it is true, others on the MSE forums are very helpful and supportive. It's great haveing such free access to all this valuable information.. I have been helped on numerous occasions and it really is appreciated.

Although my monthly Direct Debit is only likely to reduce by about £2 I have chosen the Octopus Loyalty 14 month fix. I submitted gas and electricity meter readings then followed the link to "change Tariff" on line. Email confirmation of the change came within a few minutes.Although people are saying that Octopus Customer Service is not as good as it used to be, and I'm inclined to agree with this, I still think they are a lot better than some other Energy Suppliers.I'm pleased to have the fixed rate for 14 months - covers next winter's almost certain increased useage.Once again - thank you for all the really helpful replies.4
