Need car insurance with 9 points, short-term ideal

I’ll start by begging any responders please not to use this opportunity to tell me off and morally grandstand..i know i’ve been a naughty boy and anyone telling me that isn’t going to help

Right, yes i have hit 9 points, same road twice, which i know very well, its just been moved to 30mph limit, and i was travelling at 28 and 25, so i am not a reckless driver

Problem is my insurance is up and i’m really struggling to renew, especially that my credit is shot to bits anyway (as people from elsewhere on this site will know) so i am unlikely to get a monthly payment arrangement .. just if anyone has any ideas i would be grateful, i really need my car for work and kids, i can’t afford the other options

Thanks

All the usual compare sites, try other that are not on there, or any local insurance brokers.

End of the day (no judgement) you have 9pts & that is something ins co's do not like 🤷‍♀️

Try a specialist motor insurance broker.

Change your vehicle to one that falls into a far lower insurance group.

While you may not consider speeding to be reckless. It 's a proven fact that fewer people are either seriously injured or killed with speed limits set at 20 mph. People aren't made to withstand the impact of a travelling 1,000 kg plus impact.

Insurance group makes little difference, to insure a £90k group 50 car was cheaper than a £25k group 23 car. It's much more about the type of people that drive those cars. Anything that Teens drive or could be considered a "hot hatch" should be avoided like the plague even if some of those are the lowest grouped vehicles.

I'm not one to grandstand generally but you make it very tempting when you try to protest your innocence rather than simply admit your errors.

There is no silver bullet or anything you need to do differently than everyone else. Do the leg work of checking the aggregators like confused.com and also check those not on the aggregators like Aviva and Adrian Flux. If you search "car insurance with penalty points" you will find a series of brokers claiming to specialise in the field, can't recommend any of them personally.

You can try a local broker too, the problem with small brokers however is they are more likely to use external credit providers because they cannot afford to loan you the money for the premiums and the likes of Premium Credit are more strict on who they'll loan to than big direct insurers who fund it themselves.
