You can email DCB Legal and ask if they have issued a claim between x data and y date as it would have gone to the address you told them not to send to.

They might reply or they might not, but it would give you some evidence if you did ever need to set a CCJ aside either way.
I will do this, thank you!

    Update
Hey guys- as I expected (useless awful monkey company) DCBlegal issued the claim to my old address despite me telling them on email (1) I had already moved out which I sent 3 days before they issued the claim against me to my old address and (2) then proceeded to ignore me for the next 3 weeks whilst I asked for an update/them to f/w the claim to the new address. They have now waited for the 20 day claim "deadline" or whatever it is to expire before then emailing me saying the below yesterday...

We write in response to your correspondence received in our office.
We now respond to the same as follows.
For the avoidance of doubt, a Claim was issued against you on 07/08/2025. As you failed to respond to the Court documents accordingly Judgment has now been entered against you on 27/08/2025 in the sum of £287.37. As such this matter has now been passed to DCBL for collection. The opportunity to raise substantive disputes has now passed, and so we will not be responding to the same.
We acknowledge the information provided, in which you state to have moved address. As such, we kindly request evidence showing that you were not residing at “XXX” when the Claim was issued.
Please provide sufficient evidence within 7 days of the date of this email for our team to review and respond accordingly.

I have replied to their email with (1) The new flat contract showing the move-in date was 5 days prior to the claim being issued, (2) my emails telling them this before they sent the claim and (3) how moronic their company is. I expect I won't receive a reply for another few weeks at minimum assumably.

    Help Needed
Where do I stand at the moment? They are leaving voicemails saying a CCJ has been issued against me- is this true despite me having proof I never received the letter/moved out before it was issued? Will this now affect my credit score? I won't pay and won't fall for their scaremongering but confused where exactly I now stand in this whole process/on the newbies thread?
Thanks so much for always helping!

Yes you have a CCJ and must read the CCJ set aside section of the NEWBIES thread.

Yes you have a CCJ and must read the CCJ set aside section of the NEWBIES thread.
How is this fair though given I never even received the claim letter which I obviously would have challenged with the normal process... they have solid evidence that I didn't receive the letter in both email and written form yet has still issued it? Anyway... lol

Should I wait to do the CCJ set aside until DCBLegal get back to me given I provided them with evidence? Bearing in mind I dont even/have never seen this CCJ so I have no clue how to send this ‘N244 – Application notice’ as per NEWBIES thread and also how to phone the CNBC to pay (I'm checking online now- trying to work out, assume it would be on the CCJ letter I didn't receive?).

Also I've just realised the CCJ was apparently issued against me on 27/08/25 as per above email so it's already been more than a month anyway so no point in me paying the CCJ right?

So basically my next step is to just do the N244 form, pay whatever the admin fee is to do it, then take it from there and not pay the CCJ or the parking company...

Thank you for the help so far... this seems so unfair.

    Both correct.

But you should wait a bit (this month only) to see DCB Legal's reply, as that step looks very reasonable in front of the judge who will set aside the CCJ for you.

And you want the whole claim struck out and all your costs paid by the Claimant.

Read recent (Summer) threads about CCJs where the poster has cited VCS v Carr which is binding authority.

Thank you- I will wait for DCB Legal's reply and prepare the N244 in the background if needed (and probably check here that I've filled it in all OK when the time comes).

I'll keep you updated- true hero's of society!

It is unfair and it appears pretty clear to me that DCB Legal have deliberately delayed providing any indication of the claim until it was "too late".  This should be used against them when seeking costs.

Agreed- the part that annoys me the most is that not only did they purposely wait to tell me after receiving my first email 3 days before issuing the CCJ but the 10 days later when I asked for an update I actually copied in their full end to end team (literally every single email address I could find for their company- 7-8 addresses) and guess what- no reply until the day after the CCJ 30 days was up.

What's laughable is on the voicemail they left they also STILL have my wrong address on their system despite 2 months ago my email requesting them to remove my old address off all their systems and update.

All criminal extremely inconveniencing stuff- don't want to be 'that guy' but got so much going on in my life right now- really annoying. Atleast you guys are here for guidance, thank you.

Hey guys- of course their own 7 day deadline expired and despite me sending evidence I have received no reply.

    Questions
    1. How long do you reco I wait for them to reply before giving up and submitting the N244?
    2. Are these legal companies actually able to remove the CCJ on my behalf given I never received the claim or is this a lost cause anyway?
    3. how long after submitting a N244 does the entire process last until the CCJ is removed? I’m worried with my car insurance and rent renewal occurring in Jan’26 I don’t have much time to remove it :(

    thanks so much

FYI they still have the wrong address on the system now even after all of this.
