home insurance - subsidence claim

i am currently in the midst of subsidence claim.  my property is leasehold.
The terms of my lease say that I am  responsible for taking out the Building Insurance. I have submitted a claim for Subsidence and it is now under investigation for Tree Root damage. They have now asked me for Freeholder Details.

i am just concerned if contacting the freeholder would have any implications for me.

if anyone has had experience with similar issue i would welcome your advice.

thanks for looking

What implications are you concerned about?

The insurance company are likely just trying to determine their liability towards the claim by understanding who (freeholder and leaseholder) is responsible for what.

I used to live in a flat with a similar arrangement. I was a leaseholder but my lease agreement made me legally responsible for the internal elements of the property e.g. internal stud walls, doors, fixtures and fittings such as kitchen and bathroom suite etc. As an example, if there was a fire that burned everything down, my insurance policy would cover all of the internal fabrics, whilst the freeholders insurance would cover the external parts e.g. walls, roof etc.
