Hi again
I wrote yesterday regarding a PCN appeal I may have messed up but it never rains it pours, today my wife received a notice to keeper from park maven.
Details are no valid parking session, Willows shopping centre 10/03/25 15:13 - 15:50.
My wife bought a ticket but on checking the receipt she has made a keying error.
Receipt states
Location Parking at willows
Arrive 10th March 15:17
Depart 10th March 16:30
Vehicle reg KFF15AKKZ
Payment method etc etc
The error is there's an extra F and K in the registration that's been entered, she said the machine buttons were sticking so she was having to press the buttons twice and go back etc.
Should this be appealed under a minor keying error? The number plate is quite distinguishable even with the errors.

She appeals as keeper stating that the driver found that the keypad was faulty on the machine, but full payment was made once the driver believed that the correct VRM was used, so the pcn should be cancelled and the payment machine fixed ASAP
No blabbing about who was driving at this stage1 -
Definitely point out the keying error but blame sticky keys on the machine.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Their system should not be allowing what is presumably infinite characters on a car reg. why isn't it limited to 7? Any old website limits it to such.2

Thanks for the advice, we have received a reply from parkmavenGiven that the ticket was issued as a result of failing to provide the correct VRM, in line with the Private Parking Sector Code of Practice F.3 (a), due to the costs incurred by ourselves in issuing the ticket we have reduced the cost of this ticket to £20 if paid within 14 days.

Catherine Atkinson MP said:“It’s completely unacceptable for private parking companies to penalise people for their own system flaws.
We must keep telling this Govt how to address PP operators unfair practices.

However you may want to pay £20 to make it go away. We get that. A relative of mine did exactly that in her case.
But we don't agree with the industry charging for their own system failures.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I wouldn't pay. You can clearly see it's a stuck button. It's not a keying error.Stop being so nice to Park Maven Glaven. Tell them to get stuffed and to fix their faulty machine.2
