Can you post the screenshot showing the 618. Blot out the meter number if shown0

superiphi said:- told the reading has to be recorded as 0 even when it shows 618 (??)
I mean, why? Is it really policy, as the engineer said, to try to fleece every install?
I find that unacceptable and there has to be a place we can report these in case there is a systematic pattern of abuseI suspect the 'engineer' is misremembering part of his training. It is normal for gas meters to arrive showing something like 99999, this allows for a some loss during installation and testing, and that could be recorded as '0'. Anything else should again be recorded as exactly what is shown. An electricity meter is entirely different and should be recorded exactly as shown on the meter register, typically 0. If it is anything other than zero then that is what should be recorded as the opening meter reading.

You could try asking for the complaint to be transferred to someone else who knows what they are talking about.1

Thanks for all the advice and I have an update
I have as of now received a corrected bill and the credit is back in the account, from the original people I emailed.
No reply to my complaints email.
Note that without this would have been nearly £250 in credit in March coming out of winter!
There was on the other hand no response addressing the amount of lies I was told, or to sort out a display or access to data, so I will continue this complaint.
I can imagine they do this to other people who just dont fight back. free money!3 -
