    Personally, I don't think it's worth it.

The interest gained on the last couple of deposits usually only amounts to pennies.

Better, if you can, to forgo the last couple and make them the first couple of a new account, where they'll earn the going interest rate for months rather than days.

I've also had it happen (can't recall who with - sorry) that because I'd made a 13th deposit, it wouldn't let me make another deposit in that same calendar month into a new account.
So I gained a few days interest on the 13th deposit, against not being able to fund the new account for almost a full month.
That'll be Lloyds, BOS or Halifax (or TSB, as I think they still use the same system as they were sold off with.)

The 13th payment blocks an initial payment into a 'new' account in the same month, because it isn't actually a new account and the same account and account number has just had its term refreshed for another 12 months. If you close the Easy Saver they open for you, then open a fresh RS once the first converts into an Easy Saver instead, you should be able to get a 13th payment and a 1st payment into the new account in the same month.

I haven't maxed out one of their RSs for some years now, so no recent experience of this.
