Be warned though it can take ages to get access to an NS and I account if you haven't already set one up. I wasn't able to be identified as my earlier premium bonds have been held in excess of 60 years. This non identification was despite me having newer bonds, many of which have paid out a prize sent to me in my name and to my address.Slinky said:Log into your account with NS&I and all the bond numbers will be listed.
I had to phone, they sent me a code, and that didn't work so they said they would reset my appliaction attempt, but that didn't work. So they sent me a user name, and that didn't work. Finally having spoken to several people they said I had failed to identify myself - so I had to get a form signed by someone that was not a family member to say they knew me and my ID was me. I sent that in, they lost the first one, so I resent it and finally I got access!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. They never expire...
Contact them & they will advise you.Life in the slow lane0 -
But they don't ask you to return the old paper ones if you cash them in (I found a handful of my dad's after he died), so there could be some paper ones floating around that have been cashed in and so are no longer in the draw.born_again said:They never expire...0 -
We found some of my fathers old bonds when he died. I contacted NS&I several times as executor asking about the bonds and never even had a reply. As I suspect they hoped, I gave up in the end.0

When my Dad died I did I contacted them, no winners, so I cashed them in, was a relatively easy process I foundTELLIT01 said:We found some of my father’s old bonds when he died. I’ve been receiving my prizes without any issues, whenever I won I just got sent a cheque in the post - which makes no sense of their claim they couldn’t identify me. I have never won more than £500, but feel overall for the few thousand I have, I have done better than if I’d just put money in a savings account.Jessie8787 said:

I found it incredibly easy when I had similar - admittedly it was only around £10 or so in bonds.TELLIT01 said:We found some of my fathers old bonds when he died. I just filled in the form and the money was in the bank account within the week - they never asked me to return the bonds.
