Which banks are linked? tool

gardigest said:10_66 said:There used to be an essential tool on the "Are my savings safe" page. The link is still showing in the text, but when you click on it, it only takes you further down the page to a very brief explanation of some of the main banks. With the tool, you used to be able to enter any bank or building society and it would list which other bank/bs they're associated with. There's a link that takes you to the FSCS page, but that doesn't list linked banks/bs. Does anyone know if this has been moved (and I just can't find it), or have they removed it completely now?

I too was searching for it for ages. Strange, normally the MoneySavingExpert site is glitch-free. The webmaster should look into correcting the error - it's a very handy tool!0 -
I think the error has been corrected, as that tool wasn't accessible there (in its expected location!) last week when the thread was started....

there is a link to "Which banks are linked? tool" - but it's still not working today. It just sends you lower down the page. Hopefully it'll get sorted as I, for one, find it a helpful tool. So I'm saving the correct address in my favourites:

OP simply referred to 'the "Are my savings safe" page', but it looks like there are now two separate copies of it.
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/safe-savings/ is the latest version (updated yesterday) where the tool isn't correctly linked.
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/savings/safe-savings/ is the old version (last updated 10 December 2024) where the tool works, but presumably can't be relied on if its data is out of date....0 -
Thanks for flagging this issue - I've brought it to the attention of colleagues here.

Ive also just tried to find this MSE tool but I can't access it either. Instead, the link sends me to the FSCS version which isn't as easy to use.
Will the old MSE tool be coming back? It was great!0 -
1. Until the bring back the old MSE tool (which I hope they do), you might want to use the BoE info below.
Its not as quick & easy to extract the information but it seems to be there.

2. The Moneyfacts website is easier I think:

Thanks Eyeful.
I had seen the first one you mention already, but noticed straight away one of the providers I have accounts with isn't listed (Yorkshire Building Society) so it can't be a comprehensive list unfortunately.
I'll have a look at the second link you sent. Thank you.
I still really hope the MSE one comes back, I found it easier to use as it worked slightly differently in that it told you all the banks that were linked to one bank in an actual list, rather me than having to enter them all in separately and then work out which ones were linked. (If that makes sense!?)

Ahh, that explains it then, thanks.0
