Carpet in the house is not in the best condition after tenants moved out. I now want to sell the house is it worth putting new carpet down? Or will the buyers have there own taste and just rip it out
Thanks

We were advised not to fit anything new when selling ours - but ours was the decking, not the carpet. If it's really bad then I would replace with the cheapest carpet you can find. It's often the first thing people notice when they enter a house. Whilst they may well replace it with something to their taste, you don't want to put people off0

How bad is it? Would it be OK if professionally cleaned? Most people hate the carpet they find in a house I hate the one I'm stuck with here but can't afford to replace it; it's decent carpet in good condition but I still would be rid of it if I could.
Some people will look at an old worn carpet and think "Right, that will go, I can get what I want" the same people will be put off by a brand new carpet they hate. Other people will think " Carpet tatty, another expense" and be very pleased to find a new, neutral coloured one. So there's no way to know0 -
Don't pay for someone to do it when you can hire a carpet cleaner from most diy stores or supermarkets.

Oh, paint marks? "Bad" in my book would mean actual bodily excreta or an animal smell, or grease and oil.0

I'd replace it, see if any local carpet shops have any suitable off cuts, might get it done cheap.0
