How to invest £10k best? Help

I have just come into a little bit of money - just under £10k and need to invest it. I do not want to take any risks!
Can any one please give me some advice? on what to do

    There are no totally risk-free investments (with the possible exception of index-linked savings certificates). If you even put the money into a bank you run the risk of inflation eating away at your capital.

    If you mean that you don't want to go near the stock market, then consider a good cash ISA followed by a regular saver, a high interest savings account and/or a purchase of some NS&I index-linked savings certificates when they are next issued.

    You definitely need to research it well and decide for yourself though.
