Paid renewal annual car insurance - company demanding more!

I am a named driver on my husbands car insurance. On 20.01.25 I made a claim on my car insurance for what my insurance company states is policy holder at fault claim(which I disagree with) however, my husband renewed his car insurance on 20.03.25 still with me as a named driver on his vehicle, paying the annual fee in full. A week later he was notified by the insurance company that his premium had increased by a further £100.00 because I had made a claim on my car insurance not on his. Is this correct? Anyone with any advice. Thank you

Some insurers would have simply voided the policy for fraud, many would have charged and additional premium plus an administration charge.
Yes, its correct, insurers check their customers arent "forgetting" to tell them relevant details and will charge those that do get caught.1 -

If it has, in full, then its non-fault. If it hasn't, then its fault.A week later he was notified by the insurance company that his premium had increased by a further £100.00 because I had made a claim on my car insurance not on his. Is this correct? We can only accept your word that the premium increased by a further £100 as we do not have access to your documentation. However, you have access to the paperwork and you can confirm that for yourself.
However, if you mean whether it is correct that an insurer can increase the premium of a policy you are a named driver on because you had a claim, then yes, that is correct.
Indeed, he got away lucky with the insurer not increasing it by more for non-disclosure or even worse, voiding the policy.Anyone with any advice. You got a lucky break this time. Tell your husband to be more careful in future. He may not be so lucky next time.

DunstonH thank you for your reply. My claim is still incomplete even after all this time for what is a scrape not a dent a scrape to my bumper. I am still waiting for the completion. My husband wasn't trying anything on it's just we had no information on the outcome of the claim as I believe the 3rd party scraped my car and I refuted fault.0
