Quidco’s cashback status says ‘waiting for retailers to confirm’

I’ve made a couple of purchases through Quidco and am waiting months for the payout. My account says the purchase has a green tick next to tracked, a green blob next to returns, a green blob next to retailer decision but nothing next to confirmed. Quidco support tell me that they are waiting for the retailers to act. The retailer, Argos, tell me there is nothing that Argos need to do. Are Quidco just spinning things out to avoid paying what they promised?

Quidco state Argos typically take 4 months to pay out, when did you make the purchase?2 -
Always assume that cashback has 50% chances to pay out.
Some retailers are better in tracking, some worse, some are quicker but some take time..
Argos is actually on a better side, most of my purchases there pay out but roughly 4 months waiting time.

Thanks. I made the purchase in November. I have spoken (on the phone!!!) to someone from Argos CEO’s office, who told me that Argos have nothing to do with confirming that purchase. He is of course wrong - there must be a process. He actually suggested that I showed Quidco my proof of purchase myself!!!0

Which allows them to chase it up?- Purchases at this merchant should appear as pending within 24 hours. They will remain at this status until the merchant confirms the purchase is eligible for cashback. Once this happens your purchase will reach the ‘confirmed’ status on your account
- Most transactions from merchants track successfully, occasionally a transaction may not get reported. If you believe this to be the case, please submit a "Missing Cashback" claim within 45 days of the transaction.
- Cashback is not available on the following purchases or pre-orders: all Airfryers, PlayStation 5 consoles, DualSense PS5 controllers & charging stations, Pulse 3D PS5 Wireless headset, PS5 HD camera, PS5 Media Remote Control, Rift Apart, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X
