Holiday airport transfers

Options
Any recommendations on the airport transfer websites you are using? Quiet a few options on Google but never used most of them. MSE doesn't appear to have any articles about this. We are going to Rhodes if this makes any difference.
many thanks

  • There are quite a few options out there though I tend to use Holiday extras
My company’s PTS/ATOL numbers are 6266/12759. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. ATOL numbers can be checked with the Civil Aviation Authority. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.

Be aware that some use dynamic pricing, so the price tends to go up closer to the holiday you get.
I’ve used holiday extras, sun transfers and also local taxi companies, depending on where I am going. Sometimes from Google, sometimes on local recommendation.
Some of them offer Cashback on the cashback site on occasions although obviously that isn’t guaranteed.
    Or sometimes, just public transport.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Usually doesn't make much difference who you book with as they will outsource to a local operator.

I would ask the question on the Rhodes TA board.  Regulars on there will probably have the best insight to the options.

    Google  tripadvisor rhodes forum

Search the forum before asking, the same question will have been asked hundreds of times before, by far the most common question on TA forums is about transport from the airport.

But generally pre-booked transfers are expensive. Might be better to get a taxi on arrival or possibly public transport or a combination.

That's exactly the opposite of my experience.  Pre-booking direct with a private transfer company is normally cheaper than just getting into a taxi at the airport.

It will vary, some airport taxis are a rip-off but you can usually use Uber etc. Public transport is also usually an option, even if just to get you most of the way and then a short hop taxi if necessary.

@zagfles I agree that public transport will be cheaper, but will also potentially take a heck of a lot longer than either taxi at the airport or private transfer.  There's also the hassle of getting suitcases etc onto public transport.  A personal thing, but I'd rather pay for private transfer in the knowledge that I'll be at my destination in the shortest time possible.
