Planning Fee Increases

Are you in england - I think it's different for devolved administrations.
However this is on the gvt website:How often are fees increased?
The Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications, Deemed Applications, Requests and Site Visits) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2023 introduced an automatic, annual increase. This will increase planning fees annually, on 1 April each year, starting on 1 April 2025. All planning fees will be increased by the rate of inflation, as measured by the Consumer Prices Index from the preceding September. The increase will be capped at 10%, even if the inflation rate is higher. The fees will not be changed if there is negative inflation (deflation). We will publish the schedule of new fees in advance of April each year, from April 2025.

The consultation for the increased fees had been out for a long time. They formally increased today and yes… extensions and alterations to a dwellinghouse will now attract an application fee of £528.00.2

I like the figure -528!I wonder how many people were involved and how long it took them to work out that the increase has to be 104.65%...Or have they just swapped two digits to make the change less obvious for those who don't remember?1

It is ridiculous but still less than 50% it costs the LPA to process a Householder application.0
