Thanks for all your thoughts. I don't expect in any way to get anywhere with them, it just riles me when they pretend to have customer service and its ceffectively a lie. Makes me want to pester them relentlessly just to annoy someone.Ergates said:

And the 'someone' that you annoy will be amongst the lowest earners in the country, and have no influence whatsoever on how the supermarket operates.captainscapegoat said:Thanks for all your thoughts. The person you will annoy is someone in a call centre somewhere earning a little over minimum wage, or less than UK minimum wage if its offshored, who's job is basically to be there to take abuse from people like you. They have exceptionally little authority to actually do anything about a single customer issue and absolutely no authority to change how the company operates.captainscapegoat said:Makes me want to pester them relentlessly just to annoy someone.
These call centres have incredibly high churn of staff because it's generally a horrible job and as close to a sweat shop as you can legally get. Many staff take these things personally and hence they leave as soon as they get any other offer. A few people have a thicker skin or realise that the customer is annoyed at the company and not them personally but people like me are in a minority; the bit of the job I hated was having to console the new agent thats crying because of the abuse a customer gave them.
But sure, if thats how you have fun then go annoy call centre staff who have done nothing wrong other than accepted a bad job.1 -
I wonder what the other side of the story is.0
