We are currently having some improvements done to our home however we don't have the full amount in cash to get it all done.   If we save to do it, it will take roughly 3 years.  We are both working and over 55 and could release 25% of a private pension which would enable us to complete the works.  Do we take the pension?
We are wanting to enjoy the improvements while we can.
One thing to factor into your calculations is what is likely to happen to labour and material costs in the next few years.

Personally myself I would not touch a pension till I was retiring, however tempting the fiqures look but can understand your thinking.

The builder is in place already.  The architect is drawing plans and will submit for planning permission, also sort out building regs.

The OP was about whether using pension was a good idea.
