Electricity (Only) fix coming to an end - where next?
Hi there,
My EDF Electricity tariff comes to an end in March. I'm looking at options.
I can fix for either 12 or 18 months for around £6 per month cheaper with Fuse or £4 per month cheaper with EON (fixed for 16 months). All have £50 early exit fees. It looks as though I may be able to get £21 cashback with Topcashback for EON.
Or I can stay with EDF, move to a fixed tariff without early exit fees for the same price that I'm paying at the moment. EDF do offer their Sunday saver so we've been getting some free electricity days on Sundays.
Octopus is largely the same price as EDF (no cashback from what I can see) - no exit fees either for a 14 month fix. I have heard good things about Octopus, never been a customer.
I've no electric car or solar panels.
It looks as though prices will drop over the summer - but I'm not convinced staying with EDF is worth it with the above?
What do you think?

I'm with Octopus, and I've changed my electric tariff three times already this year, as they come out with better rates. The "no exit fees" is a winner for me.

I like them to the point, that I really don't want to switch away from them (yet). Switched to them in Nov 2022.I email to change tariffs, and although I don't get an immediate reply, I know I'll get a polite answer, and that the tariff will get back dated.(There is a link to switch both or single fuels, but the single one doesn't work, hence the email. Hopefully they'll fix that, and I can do it myself in future.)And with the no exit fee tariffs, I'll just keep hopping from tariff to tariff, if/when they drop. (Gas tariff hadn't been beaten, hence just switching a single fuel.)And billing is monthly, and always accurate. I can adjust my own direct debit. It's these things that make me happy, and want to stay with them.Edited to add, the cashback is nice perk too. Earned a few hundred quid in referrals, although I know some other companies also offer this now.2
