Can you have multiple health cash plans?

I get one for free through work (health shield) which provides some coverage for me. But I want to buy a family one and the cheapest way to do that is to sign up to a new provider.
Combined, both schemes have some overlap and some unique items too, so I would want both.
I absolutely won’t claim for the same treatment twice, but I was wondering, am I allowed 2 health cash plans? Will it cause complications?
If I have 2 dentist appointments (checkups) per year, could I claim one of them on 1 health cash plan and the other on the family one?

I guess potential issues would be if you were to try and claim against both or claim against one where the provider says you should claim against the other. The small-print may cover this.0

Like any insurance duplication you could end up paying the excess on both policies.
