Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's raining here, as forecast.
We went to Alnwick Gardens yesterday and renewed our membership before strolling round, it was quite busy. There's a lovely cream camellia in the walled garden that's in flower at the moment, I look for it every year, beautiful.
By mid afternoon it had turned cold and grey, and Dh was tiring a bit so we came home.
Visited a friend last night and put the world to rights, we're both good talkers!
Not much planned for today.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can - take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It's grey and damp here too, with a bit of fog/mist to add to the miserable start. Nothing in the way of sun is forecast either. Back to the usual weather after our taste of Spring.
Only plan for today is the SS with DS. He says around mid morning. It will be Sainsbobs then Ald*. So I have made 2 lists. A bit longer than usual as I shall be MIA next w/e and he will be MIA the w/e after! As the freezer still doesn't look to be going down nothing frozen is on either list.
I still haven't made a start on the windows so that may be a job for this afternoon. My younger self would be disgusted at how lax I have become in my dotage! Have a good day if you can folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care x

Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Gers.
Weather here is grey/wet, hope it dries up so I can go for a walk.
Hope you all have a good weekend. x11 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, grey and miserable here too.
I loved Alnwick Gardens Scarlet, must visit again soon.
The bedding was dry when I got home yesterday so I put it back on the bed. The coat I washed was nearly dry so it was finished off by the fire last night. Not enough for a load today.
DD gave me the little one's tower she used to help at the kitchen worktops, it's been scrubbed and will be taken to DS1s today when I visit for the little one, so good when baby things can be passed on. I'm visiting for my lunch - unusual for him to invite me, I usually just say I'm going to visit!
I'll stop and get some shopping on the way.
Hope you're ok Nanny, not heard from you for ages.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX11 -

Morning all. Dull outside today.
Pottered up to the City Centre yesterday to look for a polo shirt for DH but had to come home and order it in his size so will collect that Monday. A friend has lent me a pair of sandals that go nicely with my sari for the wedding so I feel I'm all sorted now. Just waiting for DS to say what time we have to be there on the day so I can book a taxi from the hotel.
Dance wise we are off to the last Morris Ale of the season this evening. Always a good night and there's often spare curry to bring home
Hope everyone has a good weekend.13 -

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
First week in my new role done - it's been a bit bitty due to several online training courses and just the one day in the office yesterday. I will do 3 days in the office from now on. The team seem nice, so just waiting for them to set me up on the phone system and I'll be ready to go.
DH is settling into his role too - a smorgasbord of different tasks from taking down a flagpole, to filling a skip and retrieving items the children have managed to get caught in the gutters! Two hours a day doesn't go far though.
Sorry to hear about your dear dog @RosyRed - they are so much a part of the family and it's awful when they leave us xxx
We are off to the big shopping mall today as I'd arranged to meet ex-neighbours for lunch. DH will come with me and go off for a couple of hours, then we will continue on to Herts to stay over at BFFs and her DHs. The boys are going to a gig and us girls will go for a drink somewhere.
Have a good day everyone

Morning all, thanks @Gers for the start. It's feeling quite mild today but looking grey and damp and we may even have thundery showers at some point. I might not be able to hear them though as my ear is blocked (ear wax) and needs some drops putting in.
Between those and the eye drops for dry eye, I'm definitely feeling my age!
Yesterday felt like a very "bitty" day even though I did get done everything I'd planned to do so hopefully today will feel more organised. I want to put swatches of the paint samples on the walls and, if the sewing tape arrives, finish sewing the shopping bags. I've treated myself to a sewing box and plan to transfer all the sewing notions that are currently stored in various tins and boxes into that so everything is in one place. Tea tonight will be a prawn stir fry and I need to defrost a tub of chilli (very mild) to use as the base for a cottage pie for tomorrow. I'm doing my best to run down the freezer contents but it's slow going.
I hope the change in the weather doesn't spoil anyone's plans, such a shame any sunshine seems to disappear at the weekend, but that's British weather for you. Take care, healing thoughts for the poorlies and hugs wherever they're needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11
