Amazon/Barclays credit card

Hi, Amazon offers a £30 reward if you apply for a Barclay credit card.
I've never felt the need of a credit card as my debit cards are satisfying.
£30 is not a lot and other offers might be better, but the main thing now is to understand how credit cards work and if this one is good enough.
The Amazon page says:

"Turn your everyday spending into rewards

you can use on Amazon

Representative example: Representative 28.9% APR variable;

Purchase rate 28.9% p.a. variable; Based on a £1,200 credit limit; No annual fee."

What happens if I don't use the card at all?

Thanks.

If you dont use the card at all - nothing. Worst case scenario is they reduce the credit limit due to no use, or they eventually close it for the same reason. Nothing detrimental to your record.

Saying that though, if they are giving you Amazon vouchers just for using it, I would be moving all my spending onto it if a) you dont have a better cashback offer elsewhere, and b) you use Amazon

As above, easy £30 (albeit in Amazon credit).

Slight correction "Amazon offers a £30 reward if you succesfully apply for a Barclay credit card"

Only downside might be the hard credit check on your file(s), not normally an issue for most people.

So no charge if I don't use the card, and getting it would be ok unless I find a better cashback offer. Thanks!

Thanks. I don't think I would have problems.

I've talked too soon! It seems I am not eligible for a credit card because ''my income'' is too low. I have found better credit card offers (https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/latesttip/#rewards) but I have the same problem. My earnings are indeed low as I don't work much. Are savings considered an income? I live through them and their interests. If you think I'd better do a separate thread, I will. Thanks.

I just got a £50 voucher. Assuming there are no issues shutting the account now that I've got my Amazon credit?

If you really don't want it then no, no problems shutting it down.

How did you get £50? The standard reward is £30 (£20 from 07/04).
