Is it true that meters that are out of date but working perfectly have to be upgraded to a smart meter?  My meters are not BBC ones.
    What are the "BBC" ones.
RTS meter, I suspect, that's reliant on the BBC Radio 4 long wave transmitter.

Can you recommend one that shows the actual day and low rate figures?   I want to know if I've got the tumble dryer on  the low rate is increasing.

I did briefly look into it but prices were a bit out of my budget.  The other issue is scottish power (or at least customer services I spoke to) have made it plain that they dont approve of another handset being paired with the meter.  If I'm misunderstanding the process and the new hanset works in addition to the paired one, please correct me.

Yes mine shows all that, together with some history, but there is no split between low and day rate just the combined total. Its the low rate that I need to monitor.

Didn't you work out back in February that your meter was switching at 2308 and 0738?

I'm still not 100% when the low rate is on for other items (ie not the heating circuit)

I'm getting alerted at 23:00 on the remote that its changing to low rate.

Then it alerts again at 23:08 when the heating circuit actually goes on (lights on at sockets).

Then I'm still getting yet another at 00:08 again saying changing to low rate.

So not confident to put on appliances until 00:08, and not well enough for the step ladder at the moment.  :(   I am trying to get scotpower out to check.

There only is one low rate with your new E7 setup, either everything has it or nothing has it. It's not like your old RTS system where the storage heaters had a separate tariff and their own timings.

I know thats what should be happening but the 00.08 extra "New price"  notification has thrown me.  I'm assuming its something to do with the ECAUL request for the set hours in our region.

The BBC owns the transmission kit for the signal to RTS meters - so I assume that is what the OP means.
