I want to book a coach journey in an EU country.
When I put in the coaches website for that country, it keeps going to the UK website, which doesn't allow me to book the journey I want.
I've heard that you could use a VPN to circumvent this, but is there another was I can connect to the foreign website?

It might be worth trying a different browser. We spent a year travelling and sometimes found this helped with the same problem. Especially if you're using Google which has specific country settings.

If you're going to a country specific URL such as .ie, .de, .fr etc and it automatically redirects you to .co.uk then a VPN would very likely sort that.

This is not necessarily the case, it would rely on the website getting the location from the IP address.

Whereas browsers often supply the location based on GPS, the WiFi it's connected to etc

Unless you have set it to always allow there would be a prompt in the browser to ask for your permission to share your location. On the basis the OP has said nothing of the sort then it's probably fairly safe to assume they are deriving location from the IP therefore a VPN or proxy would be the easiest way to circumnavigate the issue.

Some do go further still and insist that you use local payment cards thus your UK issued cards will be declined forcing you back to in country options.

Do read the T&Cs carefully. If it's based in another country then those laws apply to your protection and refunds etc.
There was a splash of people backalong booking with companies abroad where they had to wait 6mts or so for return of money the holiday didn't run.

The OP hasn't said one way or the other, so I don't think we can draw an inference.

    Thanks for all the responses.
I'm travelling at the moment, so will try the suggestions about javascript and a different browser when I get back.
