Full & Final

Options
Hi There
My 3rd query in a week sorry. I'll keep it short.

Property i want to buy been on for a while lots of viewing no offers. (EA told me this while viewing)
I offered below asking (not much) 3 weeks ago, was rejected buyer wanted closer to asking, it would be an extra 2k

Went back this week with same offer as original because it's still on market. SUDDENLY...there's more interest and seller wants to go to full & final offers blah blah blah. The EA has again told me what price they are willing to accept, its still extra 2K.

Part of me is like, yeah I'll up it 2K but part of me is like, nah, call their bluff, stick with the original offer. The place isn't amazing but it does align with my long term plans of being mortgage free in a few years... any advise would be appreciated, how can i find out if someone else is interested etc.

It depends on what else is out there that you could buy instead - forget the fantasy wish list, how does it compare to what's on Rightmove right now?  Also, how does it compare to where you're living right now - how much do you want out of there?

The problem with this site is that it can create an attitude where you know the price of everything and the value of nothing.  Two thousand pounds isn't exactly a huge sum of money nowadays and is but a small amount of the total purchase price - is that too large a price to pay for allowing you to get on with your life?  Or have you been watching too much of 'The Apprentice' and feel you need to 'win' some important price battle to secure a business deal against the vendor?

You missed out once but have another opportunity. You're clearly still interested as you've posted this.  How would you feel if you missed out again?  If you're not bothered, crack on with looking at other places.  If you are disappointed, then stop messing about and get on and buy it!

If you really want it then go for it extra £2k.whether it's the sellers or estate agents playing silly buggers it is clear the seller wants £2k more.

If you don't want to pay it then walk away.

You can't find out if anyone else is interested unless you know someone at the estate agents.

Yes, to be fair it's not that much more but i would be more annoyed with the EA for lying than if the seller is a nice person and really needed that little extra.

I think I'll up the offer and hope for the best.
