Death, Divorce and Dementia

I am currently a sole carer for my wife who has now been diagnosed with Dementia. All day 7 days. I know meeting with other carer's that we all find it very difficult and stressful trying to deal with care provision an in particular dealing with their local councils. As an example, I note Martin encourages us to seek an SMI rates discount from my local council. I can find no mention of this in ours.
As Martin make such an emphasis on Dementia, could I respectfully suggest that the problems relating to all of this is made the subject of, or a part of, one of his forthcoming TV programmes.
I am actually a Citizens Adviser based in Devon, but cannot get involved whilst coping with my wife. I know how much he appreciates us - as we do him.

What does the divorce bit in your title relate to in this context?Although for what it’s worth the chances of Martin Lewis who no longer owns this site seeing and responding to your post are minimal. I would suggest contacting him more directly via Twitter for example, I do agree that it would be a helpful topic to cover. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.3 -
I would give your local council a ring and ask about the SMI discount. Don't be put off if the first person says they don't know about it, ask to speak to a manager.Signature removed for peace of mind0

You don’t mention which district in Devon you live. The form is normally on the District Council website.

I think there are some others but I’m hoping that one of these links will cover the area you live in. If not please tell me which area and I will have a look for you.
