Morning all. I switched back to an Octopus fixed tariff, as I didn’t fancy risking the winter on the Tracker. Those of you that are on the Tracker, has it been an expensive couple of months? I have kept an eye on the rates, and it did appear to go very high for a few days here and there. I would welcome your opinions. Thank you.

Gastracker.uk is good for looking backwards for yourselfnand your region as they are all different.
There is also an established tracker tariff thread here

There have been some expensive days but on the whole it hasn't been too bad. Gas is currently under 6p/kWh, so cheaper than pretty much all the fixes since October v1, for example. There's an entire Octopus Tracker thread here if you want to re-live the ups and downs of the past winter.N. It was around 7p for quite a bit but relatively mild winter in Torbay so it has been off since Feb 1st and I still managed to radically cut usage to balance out the loss of winter fuel allowance. As it is a 12 month contract I managed to change over at a lower s/c of 27p against over 31p from April, not a huge saving but every bit helps and I will not be turning the gas on again until December unless we have a Siberian winter. May get a heat pump some time this year which will mean no more gas.0
