Still no acknowledgement and no change in status on MCOL. Do I need to take any further action prior to the defense deadline lapsing?

Did you receive the email auto response from the CNBC in Northampton after sending your defence in  ?  If so you have proof of receipt, so hopefully they will log it soon and your MCOL claim history will be updated,  so check on Friday afternoon

    No they certainly haven't.

And if you are still not seeing your defence logged you are about to get a CCJ. Read other threads!

As above,  so stop making uninformed assumptions , they definitely have not bailed  !

Check your MCOL claim history,  as I mentioned 2 months ago,  copy and paste it below

If its not logged,  you are in danger of a default CCJ against you

Read the link given by coupon mad above,  plus this saga which is older than yours

After following up, I got another auto response acknowledging the email and stating that I would receive a response with 10 days. This was on 03/08/25 and still nothing. MCOL still shows my latest document as Acknowledgement of Service - no update to show my defence as logged.

I have since received an email from DCB legal about a 'without prejudice settlement' offering to reduce claim from six hundered and something to £500... laughable. Does this sugggest that my defence has been processed somewhere? Any sense on when I will receive the directions questionnaire?

When I filed my defence by email, it was done on the 26th of July 2024 and it took until the 10th of August for MCOL to be updated noting that the defence had been received. The same day I received a paper acknowledgement and the next day the directions questionnaire.

These acknowledgements only came after the deadline to file my defence (5 August) had already expired, so caused me a considerable amount of angst too.

If the defence was missing completely, DCB Legal would have obtained a Default Judgment by now.  You may have to call CNBC to chase this up.
