Poor signal on mobile phone

Hi all, am with Vodafone for my mobile phone (sim only) and my home broadband.  Since about early December last year, I was being emailed by customers who said they had tried to call me, but couldn't get through, so when speaking to Vodafone about this they suggested switching on wifi calling on my phone, this has meant that a lot of calls are now coming through, BUT, on almost all the calls going out and coming in via wifi calling, the call drops out mid-way through the call!!

The router is in the lounge downstairs and the office is upstairs - when I go downstairs to talk on the phone, there's never any dropouts.

If you were me and you wanted to receive all calls made from customers and not to have any dropouts mid-conversation, what would you do please?

I'd buy a new router.   Is the one you've got an ISP supplied one?

Yep, Vodafone supplied it, about 6 years ago.

I had similar sort of problems with ISP supplied routers - even the Amazon Eero was very poor and dropped every couple of days.

I bought this in April last year and have never had any such problems.

Being a money saving site, I would ask Vodafone for a newer model of router first.

    Vodafone router isn't particularly good.

Sounds like you need a mesh network solution. Something like a Deco or Eero solution

    Not even their latest one?

Which one would have the best chance of covering the whole house?

You need a mesh solution really by the sounds of it.

And no, the latest Vodafone router isn't the best out there either.

Not many stand alone routers provided by ISPs are that great.  A MESH set up will definitely be an improvement.

So when you say customers, it sounds like you have your own business and run it from home?  In that case I would definately invest in a mesh system and get someone to set it up for you.  Or, run an ethernet cable upstairs so you can have a router upstairs instead.

We are with VM and their router is shocking too

Vodafone will supply you with a "Super Wifi Booster" for extra £ each month.

Are you running your upstairs office connectivity by wifi from the downstairs router?
