UC and childcare costs, driving me mad!

Hi all,
is anybody else having issues with universal credit and claiming their childcare costs back at the moment?
I work full time and have a childminder who does morning and afternoon school pickups for my two kids as I work long hours and have been claiming for my childcare costs for a number of years now. Lately UC have had me doing extra verification of my childcare costs and it's getting quite intrusive! Last month they asked my childminder to send a breakdown of the hours my kids attended which was fine she sent this no issues. This month they called her unexpectedly and asked if she cared for my two kids which of course she said yes but she was quite shocked as she said this had never happened before. Has anybody else had this??
I feel like a bloody criminal and all I'm doing is going to work and getting some of my childcare costs back, it's really stressing me out tbh

Sounds like the UC review team has decided to look at your claim, just to check if what has been reported has been correctly verifield..

The review team are tasked with looking into specific UC issues and it may be childcare is one area they are looking at. And they work through a list of many different UC claims.  So your claim is one of thousands being reviewed.

If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

I just didn't think they'd call my childminder it just feels like a bit of a witch hunt when they've done it two months in a row
They did say last month when I queried it that they are looking at high value childcare costs for kids of school age but obviously I need school
holiday cover and before and after school wraparound care so it mounts up! After checking it last month I just thought that would be done but obviously not, I don't want this every month it's too stressful
