Good morning, newbie here, I have searched the forum but cannot find an answer, please help!
I have received a parking charge letter this morning from Horizon parking for parking at Asda car park in Dunstable. I was not the driver at the time the driver had a disabled passenger and a blue badge. I'm not sure if this will help with the process. The car was parked, there for just under two hours my son who was driving thought that he could park there with a blue badge without getting a ticket. My son is ASD and ADHD and to be fair probably did not read the signage. The letter says that I am now invited to pay the charge which I do not wish to do. Also the issue date of the letter was the 6th of March however I have only received the letter today (20th) which is day 14 therefore they're asking me to pay £60 within 14 days or £100 thereafter. I am unsure of how to proceed and any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

If it's an Asda-only car park, go into the store and complain to the manager. If it's part of a larger retail park, contact the managing agents (usually named on any welcome board at the entrance to the retail park). Have you read the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement yet? Beyond your complaints (above), the first post of that Announcement will guide you through the initial steps to follow to resolve this. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Surely the standard covering letter that accompanies Horizon PCNs (we've seen it in Tesco cases) tells you to go to the CS desk if you needed more time?
Just take copy of the PCN and blue badge in and ask the Asda Manager to cancel the PCN and register your vehicle as exempt in future, if they will.
They will certainly cancel the PCNPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
