Ford Protect Used Car Warranty

I bought a used car from an authorised Ford dealer in August 2024 and at the time I purchased an extended warranty for 2 years at the cost of £759 in VAT. The vehicle is currently under manufacturer warranty until May 2025.
Unfortunately, I now need to sell the car so I will never be in a position to make use of or get any value from the warranty. I’ve spoken to Ford Protect who administer the warranty and they advised that any refund would be down to the dealer’s discretion. They have contacted the dealer on my behalf, but they have refused to make a refund. Citizens Advice have advised that there is little recourse open to me other than to hope for a goodwill gesture from the dealer which as I’ve said doesn’t look likely.
Given that when I sell the vehicle, I will get a refund from DVLA for any unused vehicle tax and can claim for a refund on the motor insurance this situation with the warranty, which is basically another service, seems unfair. I wondered if anyone has had a similar situation and has any advice or suggestions on how to achieve a more positive outcome.

Which Warranty did you buy and did you pay upfront or in installments?0

Is the warranty transferable? If so, it's value can be reflected in the sale price.
Comparisons to insurance and VED are irrelevant, because those contracts clearly state you can get partial refunds. What does the contract for the extended warranty say about this situation? If it says that refunds are discretionary then I don't think you have a right to one.0
