I think if you leave the Hive Hub powered on, the heating can still be controlled using the manual controls on the thermostat.

I guess it would be easy to test. If @gadget88 switches off their Broadband router and then tries to control the boiler using the wall thermostat, that would establish if the system still works.1 -
Hive doesn't need broadband to work, it only needs broadband to be controlled via the app.
If you are moving house the new occupants will want to use it won't they, so would need to set up a hive account and link it to the thermostat wouldn't they, presume youd need to deregister your email and they would need to set it up again0
