British Gas Fixed Tariff

Hi - interested on peoples views. My current fixed rate with BG ends in August. I can switch to another one of their fixed tariffs without a fee. Do you think I should look to do this now - and secure in a new tariff for 16 months - or, should I wait until my current rate ends in August Thanks

    Welcome to the forum.
Sorry if it seems unhelpful, but the simple answer is that no-one knows.
There are simply far too many variables (The Donald, Lone Skum, Ukraine, Gaza etc) as well as your attitude to risk.  You also need to consider exit fees.

Amongst other things to consider is how cheap your current fix is compared to current fixes.

    Cheers

Energy prices are predicted to RISE again over the next year

On 1 April, the Energy Price Cap will rise by 6%.

After this, analysts are predicting a drop in the Price Cap in July, with it predicted to rise again in October.

So, your choice, though the prediction is a rise in October, going into winter, which poses another question regarding heating.

With climate change, will it be a mild winter or freezing winter, will you be using more or less than last winter?

    What do you think, SpringHappy2025?

Not to mention that you can get £50-100 reward credited to your account if you switch to a new provider and if you time it right and switch to variable direct debit avoid paying for a month, improving cash flow.
