in Credit cards
My wife and I want to purchase a solar panel system and pay for it on both our credit cards which are in different names. Will we still be covered by Section 75 if something goes wrong or does it have to be paid for on the same credit card?

Are you sure the company accepts credit cards?
They pay % charges and usually don't.
They way to get round this is to put a small amount on a credit card and offer to pay the fees if necessary.
e.g. pay £102 including a 2% fee.
Aside from that it could cause complications if you have 2 different companies who are liable.
You be strongly advised to get an insurance backed warranty which means the insurance covers the warranty/guarantee if the supplier goes out of business.
If they don't offer this then look to offer your business to a company that does.
So yes you'll be covered but it might make things more difficult with more liable parties and they could each claim the other is liable.1 -
Have you done the maths?
Total cost of Panels (including interest) over the expected lifetime of the panels - minus what you will get in rebate from your electricity bill.
I had a quote and the monies I would have wasted over 10 years would buy me a newish (petrol) car! i.e. pay for my electric as I do now and save tons of money by NOT putting Solar panels on my roof.0 -
As long as a token payment is made by the primary cardholder corresponding to the name on the contract then this should ensure s75 coverage for the whole purchase.Martincanyouhelpmeplease said:My wife and I want to purchase a solar panel system and pay for it on both our credit cards which are in different names. So you do not need put any more on a CC, just make sure the contract is in your name. Paying over 2 cards will cause issues.Martincanyouhelpmeplease said:

End of the day S75 should not even come into play here. As any install should have a ins backed warranty.Life in the slow lane0
