Very worried

I am worried about these changes which was announced yesterday, I am on LCWRA which I got awarded it last year around July, and my review is up in the next few months, with these changes, will I get put off it and be forced into work when my review is up?

My situation hasn’t changed, in fact, it’s gone worse as now, I can’t stand and I can’t walk, I am getting by in my flat on my computer chair as it has wheels, but having home weekly physio every week, where two people hold me while I stand, but it's going to time, before I am back on my feet and I can walk again. I also can't get on my bed anymore as my leg shakes now and again, I have to sleep on my sofa with my feet up on my suitcase with pillows, as its much easier getting my leg off my suitcase then my bed.

If any of you not aware of my situation, I dislocated my knee cap in March 2023, and I haven’t been outside since.

It’s stressing me out this and my anxiety and depression is through the roof. And before anyone says, I can work from home, I am not good at admin. I am useless on the phone.

If anyone can give me some advice, that would be great, thank you.

The only advice I can give is the green paper is there to read regarding government plans and consultations. A lot of detail is missing and many things are not decided.

My advice to you is continue to try to maintain your LCWRA and also if not already getting PIP.... apply if you should qualify. Many people are now asking for definitive answers about their future entitlement but there are far too many variables and any cleverly laid out expectations for you could be thwarted for example by you failing this upcoming assessment which would change everything.

Easier said than done... try not to stress... changes coming will be implemented over time when better specific advice can be given.. given a person's circumstances at the time and the rules in place or imminent.

Hi, thanks for the advice, but have you forgotten about me? I got awarded pip last year, full rate and you counted the points for me haha.

As I see it  the changes aren't about getting people into work, it's much more about cutting the current benefit rate people of LCWRA, there isn't suddenly going to hundred of thousands of jobs for disabled people opening up.
With the PIP planned changes it won't affect you  with your current award.
