Currently in the process of re reading...
About an hour ago i had a call from DCB Legal wanting to speak to me... After waiting for 14 minutes for an advisor to connect... i asked how they got my number and she said she cannot find my number on file and asked for a reference number or postcode which i refused to give as they phoned me... she also heard the phone call was being recorded... after stuttering and claiming to not have my number on file she said thanks for my time and ended the phone immediately. I have this recorded and i will use in court. I assume they were trying to settle out of court but do you have any other explanation for this strange phone call?
Thanks In Advance.

Nothing strange about it, all part of the process, just ignore them, but do read and follow the 8 steps, read a dozen other similar that are ahead of you too ( this will show you the common harassment by dcb legal )
- Do not be surprised to receive an early copy of the Claimant's Directions Questionnaire or the usual template letter saying they 'intend to proceed' and/or want you to 'settle'. Ignore that!
- Wait for your own Directions Questionnaire from the CNBC and then complete & email it to the CNBC

I have received both and intend to ignore them completely, and only interact with CNBC...
I just thought the manor of the call strange..? How she put the phone down immediately and didn't even offer to settle?
Where would they have got my number from?Thanks0 -
Presumably your phone or sim are om a contract, so easily found by credit agencies and debt collectors etc
Dont believe for one second that you are anonymous, we all leave digital footprints
If you buy a pay as you go burner phone you might have remained anonymous, like county lines !2 -

is it more likely to help if i even just offer £20?
what will next step be if i offer £0- are DCB Legal likely to take it to court?
Thanks for your response0 -
‘Offering’ £20 will just delay closing down the call. But, it’s up to you. A bit of a poker game, but once they sense you might be in some kind of paying mood, expect them to throw another figure at you. DCB Legal hardly ever progress a claim to court, they almost always discontinue.aa_123 said:

Thanks for your responsePlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

It's in the second half of the 8 steps. It's not in the NEWBIES thread, you want the Template Defence thread of course.aa_123 said:
