Weird scam call from vets!

Sorry if this isn't the best thread, but I just had a very strange phone call from my cat's vets. It came from a local number and offered him vaccinations at a reduced price. I had been thinking of this so stupidly went along for a bit, but then the caller hung up and hurriedly said I should call the practice directly. he sounded a bit rattled or panicked.
I never normally fall for this but was very distracted. The strange thing is, he hung up without me giving any info at all. He knew the cat's name, his age and the town but I gave nothing beyond that, short of correcting the age by one year and saying I'd want vaccinations in May. I'd never give bank / CC details and didn't confirm address.
Obviously he was trying to get my identity but apart form confirming the phone number is me what else could have happened here? I don't use the cat's name or age for passwords (though my mum does for her Netflix account, but I'll get her to change that asap).
Please watch out for this scam. It felt odd so I should have known better!

Has the practice confirmed that there is no such offer currently running?Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

Have you rung the vet?
Bet it's not a scam.
Well done for not setting all your passwords to "tiddles".0 -
Turned out it wasn't actually a scam, vet just confirmed. The offer isn't on the vet's website and they have outsourced the call - hence the slightly odd nature of the call. False alarm sorry!5

Thought that was the most likely thing.
Do they have permission to outsource your details though 😉Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid1
