They seemed to not know how many shares I had, and the whole tone of their communications has a "phishing" smell about it. I intend to ask them for a copy of all the data they hold on me and any contract that might exist. I can then decide what to do. Meanwhile happy to join any PR campaign to raise the profile of the issue. "No win no fee" does not seem to me to need interpretation, and since there was no case fought in court, there can be no such thing as a "win"It seems from other posts that there were people included in the mailing list that expressed an interest, but may not have actually signed up to anything. For those who did sign up, it was not a "no win in court, no fee" arrangement, so redress won outside of court would count, and the terms posted upthread would seem to include such a win.The lesson for those willing to learn it, is to refrain from engaging with ambulance chasing solicitors. This situation is very tame compared to others.4

Coordinate yes, organise no, the pitfalls of group action/litigation are all too obvious here…MapsterUK said:
We should organise yes or at least coordinate. There must be thousands of disgruntled HP clients out there. Try and contact the financial press. Consumer action groups and of course give a one star on Trustpilot.spidyspanx said:I've received 3 emails from Harcus Parker since Sept 2025 requesting payment via a magic link whereby I would need to inform them of the number of shares I had held so they can calculate the invoice amount...
Last email received was 12th Dec 2025
I don't recall signing up to the HP action. Several yrs back I was interested in what service they were offering and hence that's how they had my contact email address. Neither did I sign a contract or agree to engage them to act in any way.
I don't intend to engage with HP or assist them in calculating and generating an invoice for services I did not sign up to.
Their activity needs to be kept in the public eye and in doing so hopefully be picked up by the media.
We should organise together to collectively rebuff them
My suggestions:
1. Anyone who is unclear about their contractual relationship with HP should submit a Subject Access Request
2. Do not click on the payment link and/or enter shareholding details retrospectively
3. Do not ignore their emails or escalate by threatening with ombudsman, etc. Instead ask for clarification of how a fee has crystallised and consider Point 1 which firmly places the ball in their court and silence/failure to comply with the request would strengthen your position5 -
For me it worked out to about 64% of the funds received in April 2024.
That's interesting, I can't get their link to work so can't see what they are trying to invoice. How much are they charging per share?thetrainengineer said:After trying to contact them three times over the last two weeks, and failing to get a response, I decided to pay their invoice as I was getting too stressed out with worry.
I will be leaving 1 star trust pilot review though.

Yes I was just too stressed out with sleepless nights but am still following this list. I might just submit an SMR for the heck if it to keep them busy.Knarf01 said:
That is unfortunate, I hope that is the end of the matter for you. If anyone else feels inclined to do the same, submit a Subject Matter Request instead. That is like pressing ⏸️ on what they are threatening to do and substantially strengthens your position going forwardthetrainengineer said:After trying to contact them three times over the last two weeks, and failing to get a response, I decided to pay their invoice as I was getting too stressed out with worry.

What was interesting was that their invoice did not have my address on it. But I think they could get this from my shareholding details.
And when I went to pay I did not complete my address on the payment request.
Just submitted a new SAR. That w8ll give them something to do over Christmas.1 -
Thanks that is helpful information. When you say ‘funds’ is that the FCA compensation or does it include windup payments?thetrainengineer said:

You are right to keep following this forum and other news relating to the HP Woodford claim. If the DBA and fee payment structure ever become the subject of regulatory scrutiny, there may be an avenue to recoup some of what you paid under a fairness and proportionality argumentthetrainengineer said:

Just sent my Subject Access Request and received the following auto response -
"Thank you for contacting Harcus Parker in connection with the Woodford Fund litigation. Please be aware that we are operating with a reduced team over the festive period and will respond as soon as possible, though response times may be longer."
Seems like an ideal time for everyone to submit theirs.

It was just the funds received in April 2024 nothing before then. Which i don't think they could claim anyway as thise were received prior to me joining the claim.Knarf01 said:

After reading the contract I agree with your assessment. And yes absolutely a lesson learnt for me.masonic said:flourhead said:Like others, I am on email 3 from HP. For what it's worth I had several thoughts prior to payment such as....
Say the link didn't work or that you don't click links requesting payment due to the scamming potential. Then say you will pay but ask them to send a written invoice by post so that you can send them a cheque. Also asking them who they want the cheque made out to.
I also thought about negotiating a reduction. Maybe claiming circumstances such as a pensioner and/or on low income.
But at the end of the day I did not have the courage to follow through on any of these because I guessed they are professional lawyers who had seen it all before so had excuses to reject them all. Also it wasn't a huge sum for me £1400, so I just wrote it off as a lesson learnt.
And then gave them 1 star review to vent some of my anger.1
